The CTO-P program is an intensive, accelerated program because the material is covered in only 11 weeks. Classes are generally held Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Fridays typically ending around 11:00 a.m. Students should expect classroom instruction and simulator training. Coursework focuses on air traffic control fundamentals, tower operations, regulations, phraseology, weather, aircraft recognition and performance, airport operations, separation requirements, and preparation for the FAA written and practical examinations.
